
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Adjunct Professor, Brigham Young University-Idaho 2024 – Present: Teach freshman students in concepts of grammar, mechanics, writing techniques and procedures. Develop comprehensive curriculum to engage students in the learning process and strive for positive outcomes and behaviors.
- Director/Home maker, Grant Academy Homeschool 2003 – Present: Oversee the education and spiritual, physical, mental wellness of my 6 children. Tutor each child in all subjects such as math, science, literature, reading, language arts, life skills, and philosophies. Oversee the management of the home in areas of food production and preservation, agriculture, cleanliness and overall vitality.
FREELANCE WORK 2003-2022
- Writing Tutor, BYUI Writing Center (2000 – 2003): Facilitated students’ knowledge of grammar, syntax, tone, and writing techniques. Gave writing suggestions for concise essay writing. Facilitated in biweekly tutor seminar. Served as TA for Freshman English Course.
- Contract Work (2005-2022): Edited and proofread 400 page novel, 3 page website, writing assignments, and college and internship applications. Interviewed, typed transcript, and wrote biographies of two elderly individuals for family records.
- Private Tutor (2003-2010): Taught students of various ages and skill levels in language arts and literature, including adult literacy and adult and Child ESL
- English Tutor, Public School After School Program (2006 – 2007): Tutored high school ESL students in grammar, spelling, mechanics, reading, and comprehension in preparation for state testing and placement.
